Skali Relief Team Calls For More Volunteers (BERNAMA)

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 7 (Bernama) -- A relief team spearheaded by Tengku Farith Rithaudeen, Group CEO and founder of the Skali Group, an e-business enterprise, is looking for more volunteers help in its landslide relief efforts at Bukit Antarabangsa here, said a company spokesperson today.

The Skali Relief Team currently has more than 30 volunteers, mostly drawn from its employees, and operates from the Burger King outlet next to the Petronas service station.

The spokesperson said the team provides food and drinks to people affected by the landslide as well as vital information from its SMS alerts.

"We inform the affected residents from our database of more than 300 house owners on information like when they can move into their homes or the status of the electricity connections. We are always in touch with the authorities so that the information is authenticated," she said.

Tengku Farith, whose house was also damaged by the landslide, luckily did not stay in that house as he relocated to another house about a month ago.

Those who want to volunteer should be at the Burger King outlet at 10 a.m. on Monday.
